Colfax Ave Business Improvement District — General Overview

The Colfax Ave Business Improvement District (BID) is a quasi-municipal organization founded in 1989 to support a vibrant commercial environment and build a dynamic, inclusive community along East Colfax Avenue. Funded primarily through assessments on commercial properties within the district, the BID works in partnership with businesses, property owners, residents, City agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations.

Its mission is to build community and cultural vitality, support economic prosperity, and ensure the East Colfax Avenue corridor is safe and well-maintained. Its vision is for Colfax to be Denver’s most dynamic street—welcoming all, providing joyful and fulfilling experiences, and sustaining a diverse mix of community-centered businesses and residents that help one another thrive. The organization operates around three core values: Holistic, Nimble, and Inclusive.
